It’s been an exciting last couple games for the LCL boys basketball team. In Friday’s victory over KCL, Luke Haertle passed the 2000 point mark for his HS career….a truly remarkable accomplishment! The team then they traveled to Pewaukee on Saturday where they competed tough, but ultimately fell short against one of the best teams in the area across all divisions. Check out the recaps below:
Lake Country Lutheran continued their 7 game road trip with a convincing 96-37 victory over the Christian Life Eagles in a Midwest Classic Conference contest. The Lightning jumped out to a 55-16 lead and never looked back. Leading the way for LCL was Luke Haertle with 18 points and 7 rebounds. In doing so Luke passed 2,000 points for his high school career. Also in double figures for Lake Country Lutheran were Noah Howard with 15, Ben Lubbers, Ty Schneider, and Sam Hans with 14 each. The Lightning are now 19-0 overall, and 11-0 in conference play.
Lake Country Lutheran suffered their first defeat of the season with an 80-69 loss to Pewaukee in a non-conference game. Getting down early the Lightning came to within 6 at the break and took a brief lead in the second half but came up short in a great high school basketball game. Leading the way for the Lightning was Luke Haertle with a 27 point 12 rebound double-double. Also in double figures for LCL were Noah Howard with 13 points, Sam Hans and John Nehls with 11 each. LCL is now 19-1.
