The LCL Girls Volleyball team has had a fast start to their season. They won the Bronze Bracket in the highly competitive Joust Tournament featuring 24 teams from around the state across all divisions. The Lightning defeated some strong teams along the way including Arrowhead in their final match of the tourney. Junior setter, Rachel Rossing, was named 1 of 12 members of the All-Tournament Team!
The Lightning traveled to New Berlin West for a tournament on Saturday and came home tournament champions! They beat Thomas More (25-22, 25-15), Racine Case (25-14, 25-9), and Appleton East (25-14, 25-23) in pool play. In the semi-final they beat a scrappy Edgerton team 25-19, 25-16 and then knocked off Franklin in the finals 25-18, 25-21. Adriana Studer was key in the championship breaking open both games with a six point serving run in the first set and a eight point run in the second which included 7 aces! Rachel Rossing continues to run a creative offense getting her hitters single block swings consistently. She had 104 assists on the day!
